The Long, Long Life of Trees – Fiona Stafford

Fiona Stafford is one of our greatest nature writers, with books including ‘The Long, Long Life of Trees’ marking her out, according to Times Higher Education, as “not only a supremely cultivated scholar, but a writer and thinker vividly alive to trees in her own times  – and, trees being what they are, to the vast history and prehistory that stretches back beyond the shadowy bulk of this yew, this pine, this oak.” We are delighted and honoured that she will be reading a number of her acclaimed Radio 3 Essays, each of which deals with a different kind of tree, at this year’s Timber.
