Dave Haslam in conversation with Radio 4’s Jeff Bird, sharing the five tracks which connect him with the natural world.
Dave Haslam is a DJ and writer who built his reputation at the Haçienda club in Manchester from the mid-1980s onwards. Described by Lauren Laverne as a “brilliant DJ, and a fantastic writer’, he’s gone on to play gigs around the world, from Lima to Berlin, and Chicago to Turin, and afterparties for New Order, Gorillaz, and others. His writing has appeared in the likes of the Guardian and the New Statesman, and he’s the author of five full-length books and, addition, eight small format books – on subjects including Sylvia Plath, Keith Haring, and Grace Jones. His 2018 memoir, ‘Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor’ was proclaimed Book of the Year by Gilles Peterson.
