For over 30 years, a passionate group of people have been spearheading the transformation of a post-industrial landscape in the Midlands. Over 9.5 million trees have been planted in what was once one of the least wooded parts of the country, revitalising the economy and breathing life back into communities. Today, the National Forest is seen as one of the boldest environmentally-led regeneration initiatives in the country, and stands as an example of what can be achieved with a lot of passion, hope and determination.
However, the story doesn’t end there. Meet the team, both past and present, that have been part of making this happen and are working to continue to transform the Forest into a beacon for sustainability. They’ll discuss the history of the Forest, the vision for the future and the challenges we still face today.
This will be a panel-led discussion with opportunity for questions, and is aimed at adults and older children – although all are welcome.
