Friends of Timber and world class playground designers, Timberplay, are back at the festival for a third year, bringing their natural wood play equipment to the beautiful Timber site.
Seek out their stunning structure to reach new heights, climb explore and play. Young and old – there’ll be free play for all. Wonder as the climbing stack becomes the setting to sit back, relax and enjoy a spectacular aerial circus show.

Timberplay are one of the most respected names within the play industry.
Alongside high quality and sustainable play products, they passionately believe that the landscape is an essential part of any successful design for play. For more than 50 years, Timberplay and their manufacture partner Richter Spielgeräte have used the natural elements to better connect children with nature, continually challenging the manner in which more traditional play provision within public play spaces is limited in its play value.
“Play environments should be more than just physical challenges. By creating pleasant spaces with varied play experiences we better support our children’s development, enhancing their understanding of the world around them and sharpening their social, mental and physical skills”.
Play is a form of expression for children, and one that corresponds to each phase of their life. A child’s urge to play strengthens motor skills as well as intellectual capabilities. To truly understand something, children must first be able to experience it within their environment. Only when they have explored it using all their senses can they recognise its interconnections. Playful exploration and discovery are therefore the basic foundations for healthy development.
All new concrete-less play structure.

Timberplay are delighted to showcase, for the first time, an important progression for the organisation and their global partners in terms of Sustainability.
“The Climbing Structure we are bringing to the festival will be installed without the need for concrete foundations, which will save huge amounts of Carbon from our installations. Through sales of our Concrete-less Climbing Structures we will be taking significant steps to reducing the carbon footprint of our projects, and those of our clients.
The environmental ethos of Timber is why we were happy to partner with Wild Rumpus three years ago – as well as the clear synergies in terms of playfulness and natural connections. The festival is therefore the perfect place for us to launch such a significant step in our journey towards Net Zero.

Our iconic Climbing Structures are designed to mirror the challenges of climbing trees – sadly fewer and fewer children are able to have these natural play opportunities.
By using ingenious engineering expertise, Richter are once again “The Original”, and this time we will be delighted if others within the industry wish to follow their lead.”
Get your tent up, grab your festival garb and head down to Possible Places where you will get to climb, jump and swing off this wonderful new play structure!
