What does poverty proofing the outdoors look like?
Exploring the relationship between poverty and outdoor experiences, Nik and Sunny Elvy will share ideas of how to support communities with fewer resources to access the outdoors.
They will draw on lived experience, alongside years of professional practice and research.
Nik is an outdoor teacher, outdoor cook, practicing artist and director of Curious School of the Wild CIC. Described as a ‘pracademic’, Nik has a research interest in the relationship between poverty and the outdoors. Folklore, folktales, food and nature are threads that run through their art practice.
