Planting Hope

Join our practitioners to discuss how we can scale up tree planting across the country and create landscapes that will thrive in the face of a changing climate

The effects of climate change are becoming ever more obvious, but so are our efforts to mitigate and adapt at pace. Over 150,000 trees were planted last year in the National Forest alone, storing carbon, slowing the flow of water and providing habitats for wildlife. In light of these benefits, scaling up tree planting seems like an obvious choice. However, tree planting is not appropriate everywhere. So how do we balance the need to take care over planting decisions with the urgency of our climate response?

Join our practitioners to discuss how we can scale up tree planting across the country and create landscapes that will thrive in the face of a changing climate. They’ll discuss what’s needed to plant at scale and look at the ways trees can give us renewed hope for a positive future.

This will be a panel-led discussion with opportunity for questions, and is aimed at adults and older children – although all are welcome.
