Why do we care?
‘Globally, food production accounts for one-quarter of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and takes up 40% of the planet’s habitable surface.’ An average meal emits =1.7kg co2e. We need to get this down to=0.5kg co2 per meal

Cups
We do not allow any drinks to be served in single use disposable cups. – Cold drink cups – We will supply reusable cups. These must be used for all drinks served. £1 per cup must be charged to the customer when obtaining a new cup. This is not a refundable deposit. The cup pounds will be invoiced for post festival. This helps to cover the cost of cleaning the cups. Customers should be encouraged to use the same cup all festival and return it to the cup bins at the end of the festival. They are unbranded and not souvenir cups. We want to encourage the reduction of new plastic creation.
– Hot drink cups – We will be telling people to bring their own cups for hot drinks. You must not give out disposable cups of any kind. You can sell/hire you own reusable cups, or purchase our reusable cup for resale.
– FSC wooden stirrers only or metal spoons.
– Bulk sugar pots only (no single sachets).
Waste
We are operating a Clean Pitch Bond scheme. Each vendor will be required to pay a £200 refundable deposit with the pitch fee. This deposit will then be returned to you post festival by bank transfer after inspection and sign off. We will provide you with access to waste deposit stations, and all waste from the festival will be recycled once removed from site – please stream your waste as much as possible.
Food Bank
If you have any surplus food at the end of the festival please drop it off at the collect point by 13:00 Monday.
Green Trader Award
We’ll be awarding one trader the Green Trader Award. Our sustainability manager will make contact with you once on site and give you further details. We are looking to reduce our carbon footprint by 20%, with electricity and waste the two biggest producers of carbon at the festival.
