Accessibility
Timber is an outdoor camping festival, and while we can’t control the elements, we are committed to removing barriers to access.
We’re open to hearing what would be helpful to you -if you have specific suggestions or ideas – please do get in touch with us at: access@wildrumpus.org.uk.
We don’t use hard and fast rules, so get in touch and talk to us about your concerns, your ideas, and what you need in place.
It’s your experience, and we want you to have the best one possible.
The Timber Site
Timber is held at Feanedock, a National Forest woodland in Moira, near Ashby de la Zouch. By nature of our beautiful exploratory site we recognise that some areas are less physically accessible than others. We try to balance out the programming to ensure that the blend is suitable for all.
If there is something you are particularly disappointed not to be able to reach, contact us and we will see what we can do. We will send you a site map marked with alternative routes in your accessibility pack, and we have an access buggy that will assist with the steepest gradient of the site – this will be bookable during the festival.
Watch our access video, to have a look around the festival site, see the areas and get your bearings before you arrive.
Accessible Site Map
Download: Timber Accessible Site Map [PDF, 5.6mb]
This a high-quality PDF document – when you’ve opened it on your device you’ll be able to zoom in, see information about terrain across the site, gradients on paths, more accessible routes and where certain structures and facilities are placed.
Easy Read Guide
Download: Timber Easy Read Guide – this is a quick and simple guide to Timber and what to expect.

Access Requirements Form
This is the place to start for many people booking resources or just giving us a bit more information. Look here to book Personal Assistant tickets, accessible parking, accessible camping, medication storage, etc.
Personal Assistant Ticket Eligibility
We operate a free personal assistant ticket scheme. You are automatically eligible for this scheme if you can supply one of the following:
- Front page of DLA / PIP (no specific rate required)
- Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate required)
- Evidence that registered severely sight impaired (blind)
- Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
If you would like to take advantage of the free personal assistant ticket scheme, please book the rest of your tickets as usual. Then, when you have your booking reference number, fill out our Access Requirements Form above and quote your booking reference number.
When we receive your access requirement form, with your booking reference number and attached evidence, we’ll process your Personal Assistant tickets. These will be sent out separately to your paid tickets.
We recognise that the evidence above might not include everyone that has an access requirement, so, if you do not have any of the above evidence but wish to apply for one or more access provisions, complete the Access Requirements Form above stating why you require them. You are welcome to post or email copies of any additional evidence that supports your application if you have any, or contact us to discuss your application. Your application will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
The Timber Site
Timber is held at Feanedock, a National Forest woodland in Moira, near Ashby de la Zouch.
The site is divided in two between Gorse Lane which separates the main festival site from parking and camping. Getting around the site can be a challenge for some people, as there are hills. We have made changes to the site from the first year of Timber, so that the audience doesn’t have to go up and down so often.
If hills are a real challenge for you, we have an alternate route into the centre of the site that we can arrange for you to use. This has to be on a case by case basis as it is primarily a vehicle access route, but if you would like to talk about it, get in touch at access@wildrumpus.org.uk
Mobiloo
We will have a Mobiloo changing places unit on site.
Inside a Mobiloo there is:
- Full-sized changing table
- Toilet
- Ceiling tracking hoist
- Shower
You can get more information about the Mobiloo, as well as the brilliant organization behind the vehicles, at www.mobiloo.org.uk
It is important that if you need to use the hoist facility that you get in touch with us about slings in advance, as these are not supplied. You can talk to our access lead, Greg Akehurst at access@wildrumpus.org.uk
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet at each toilet point. There will be signage on toilet doors encouraging people to only use them if they need access facilities. See the map for toilet points, and if you need any further information you can ask on site at the Information Tent (or in advance at access@wildrumpus.org.uk)
Lighting
We do not have dedicated strobe lighting fixtures, but there will be Fast Colour Changing LED lighting at The Eyrie and Field Notes Stages.
Whilst you’re on site
Come and talk to us! Head to the Information Tent, where the team there will radio one of our dedicated access team to come and meet you, we can then discuss any issues you’re having.
If you are facing an issue we really would love to know.
The access team are here all weekend, so get in touch with us.
